The Do’s and Don’ts of Email Marketing

Email marketing is a great way to pitch potential customers, but there are a lot of ways in which it can get ignored or sent to spam. Check out the tips below to send off a successful marketing email

Do’s:

  • Personalize the email using the receiver’s name

  • Keep the subject line concise and interesting

  • Send the email at a peak time 

  • Add enticing visuals (graphics, GIFs, photos)

  • Include a call to action and hyperlinks

Don’ts:

  • Write a lengthy email with unnecessary information

  • Overuse exclamation points and caps

  • Make the subject line extremely general 

  • Leave out visuals

  • Use language that will land your email in spam
